Sanjay Gandhi was one of the famous Indian Politicians. Sanjay Gandhi was the son of Indira Gandhi. And, like his mother, he was an active politician of India. From the beginning of his political career he was dominant and the most controversial political figure in India.He was responsible for the manufacture of Maruti cars in India. Though the project did not turn out to be a success the, it was responsible to change the life style of India. His role during emergency turned is reputation upside down. His political career ended abruptly as he died in a car crash. Despite of his short political career he set an example of service and leadership to his countrymen.
Shortly after his death his service towards the country was commemorated by India post by issuing a commemorative stamp with his name. This stamp is of 35 paise value bears his portrait and a text mentioning his name. He is featured on another stamp which is issued by Mauritius. Mauritian stamp of Rs. 1.50 denomination was issued to celebrate 100th birth anniversary of pt. Nehru. This stamp features entire Nehru lineage i.e. Pt. Nehru himself, Mrs. Indira Gandhi and her sons Sanjay Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi.
